We are currently in the process of making some exciting updates to homeschool courses that will improve the experience of families using Study.com for homeschool. You can find the list of courses that will be affected at the bottom of this page.

Here’s a quick summary of what will change:

  1. Chapter and lesson content is being refreshed in line with our drive to keep courses up to date with the latest educational material.
  2. Additional chapters will be added that contain optional resources designed to allow parents and their children to interact more closely with the material and each other throughout the learning process.

Resource additions include:

  • Practice activities
  • Comprehension questions and discussion questions
  • Assignments and essay prompts (with rubrics)
  • Lesson plans

The resources within the new homeschool chapters will not count towards course progress, giving you the freedom and flexibility to choose which you want to use, and when.

But wait! What happens if I am already enrolled in one of these courses? Will I lose current course progress?

Yes, once the changes take place you will lose progress made in the current version of the course. However, if lessons you have already completed remain in the new, updated course, those lessons will be marked as ‘complete’. You will not have to redo those lessons.

If you are currently enrolled in one or more homeschool courses, you still have the opportunity to earn your completion certificate.

We are not making these changes until the first week of January 2020, meaning that you have until the 31st of December 2019 to complete any homeschool courses you are currently enrolled in.

Once the course changes are implemented in January 2020, you may notice further optional resource additions over time. Those additions will serve to further enrich the learning experience and will not affect course progress made in the new versions of homeschool courses.

If you have any questions about any of these updates, please contact us. We aim to make this a smooth transition for everybody concerned, and would like to support you in any way we can.
